The Landings Association receives many inquiries regarding basic information. Below is a sample of some of the most commonly asked questions.

What are The Landings Association's business hours? The Association's regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Public Works offices maintain different operating hours: 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The main Association phone number is 912-598-2520.

What is the procedure for change of address? Residents should call the US Post Office to redirect all mail. To redirect Association mail, including The Landings Journal, assessment, marina mailings, etc., please click on Mailing Address Change Request or contact the Association (912-598-2520).

How can I sign up for E-Mail Bulletins and the Association's website? If you are new to the website, be sure to complete the Sign Up information to receive a password to the private and secured portions of the site.

What is the regular schedule for yard debris/dry trash pickup? Yard debris is collected by Chatham County every Tuesday. Bulky item waste is collected by Chatham County the second Friday of every month. (The schedule is subject to change in the event of a holiday.) Please click on Chatham County's Public Works Department website for more details. Household garbage must be contracted for back-door/service yard pickup, through such waste providers as Waste Management (912-965-0300) or Savannah Waste (912-898-2200).

How do I obtain Personal Identification Numbers and barcodes? New residents are required to provide a signed copy of their settlement statement or warranty deed, along with car registrations, to The Landings Association (600 Landings Way South). Renters are required to provide lease agreements and car registrations. Security then will attach the barcode. Commercial vendors can purchase barcodes and decals at the Association Office. All barcodes are computer monitored and controlled internally. Residents have unlimited access at all gates within The Landings' system. Non-residents are subject to time and day limitations based on their need to enter the community. Barcodes are assigned to specific vehicles and, therefore, are not transferable.

How can I obtain a guest pass? Residents can request passes for their guests by clicking on TLA 411 and entering in their email and PIN, or by calling 912-598-1982 (Main Gatehouse). Residents will be asked for their PIN and to verify name and/or address. The resident will be required to provide the last name of the guest, the entrance gate, date of arrival, and the duration of stay. Guest passes are not issued for any commercial entities. Vendors, repairmen, and service providers must register with TLA to be eligible for entry during business hours only.

What is the procedure for obtaining guest passes for a large group? Guest lists for five or more passes may be submitted by clicking on Guest Pass Request and attaching a party list. They also can be delivered to the Main Gatehouse 24 hours prior to your event. Resident hosts must submit a legible, alphabetized list of guests, along with their PIN, address, phone number, start time of the event, and access points.

Are frequent visitor passes available? Frequent visitor passes are available at the Association for a fee, along with the resident's sponsorship and authorization. Visitors must provide proof of ownership of vehicle. This pass (decal) cannot be used for any type of commercial entry into the community. Failure or abuse of the entry privilege and restrictions will result in revocation. You can print out an application by clicking on Frequent Visitor Form.

What are the rates for commercial decals? Rates for commercial decals are set annually, and they vary based on the number of wheels of the vehicle. Daily passes for commercial vehicles are available at the Marshwood Gatehouse for $20 cash. The driver must have proof of insurance and vehicle ownership.

What are the commercial work hours? Commercial work hours are 7 a.m.-to-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-to-5 on Saturday. No commercial work is permitted on Sunday or holidays. Exceptions are made for emergency utilities (plumbing leak, heating, air conditioning or fire damage repairs, etc.).

Does the Association handle notarization services? Yes. The Landings Association provides complimentary notary  services for residents during regular business hours, Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 600 Landings Way South. Photo identification is required.

How can I obtain information regarding Committee service and the requirements? Committee space is limited (normally to six members). Members are appointed and reappointed each year by the Board. If you would like to serve on a committee, you must fill out a Committee Membership Application and sign the Code of Ethics. What items are appropriate for the mail tubes? The tubes located below your mailboxes are intended for neighbor- to-neighbor communications. These tubes may not be used to distribute business, political, or promotional materials, etc. Please see Rules and Regulations, E.11.

Who do I contact if I have an emergency that requires the police? Call 911 for the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. The Landings Security emergency number is 912-598-2571.

Who do I call to report a medical emergency or a fire? Call Skidaway Island First Responders (912-355-6688).

Who do I contact about fire protection? The Southside Fire Department provides fire protection services to all of Skidaway Island. There are two stations on the island, each staffed 24 hours a day. Membership in the Southside Fire Department for all homeowners is recommended and required by most homeowners' insurance companies. You can reach them by calling 912-354-1011.

Who do I call if I have a problem with a utility, such as water, power, or cable? You will need to contact the respective utility company directly.

Who handles voter registration? For voter registration, absentee ballots, etc., contact Chatham County's Voter Registration Office (912-790-1520). Registration also is handled at the driver's license office. You are required to register 30 days prior to an election.

Who handles inquiries concerning such items as lagoons, trees, and common property? The Public Works Department oversees all common property landscaping and supervision of ValleyCrest contractors. Public Works can be reached by calling 912-598-2524, ext. 400.

Who can I contact regarding alligator concerns? Between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays you should call the Public Works Department (912-598-2524, ext. 400). Off-hours reports should be made to Landings Security at the Main Gate (912-598-1982). Removal is handled by a licensed trapper under contract with Public Works.

Who handles other Animal Control concerns? Animal Control services are provided by Chatham County. They can be contacted at 311 or 912-652-6575, or by clicking on Chatham County Animal Control.

Does the Association have a library? Yes, online. It consists of historical and current information relating specifically to Landings Association issues. To use the library, which is updated frequently, please click on Library.

What are the restrictions for RV parking? Large vehicles may park in the driveway for 24 hours only. Short-term parking for visitors may be secured in the Association's back parking lot, with prior permission. Annual leases are available for residents at the Association's three Storage Yards.

When does The Landings Association's Board of Directors meet? The Association answers to a nine-member Board of Directors, which meets monthly (usually at 4 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of the month, except in November and December when the Board meets the 3rd Tuesday). The Regular Sessions of the Board are open to the public. The Directors each serve a term of three years. Three new directors are elected each year by the membership. The Board Officers are elected each year by the Directors.

Are Board Minutes available? Yes. Copies of past Board Meeting minutes are available by clicking on Board Minutes.

How do we prepare for the Hurricane Season? The Atlantic hurricane season starts June 1 and lasts until December 1. Click on Landings Hurricane Guide for preseason preparations, as well as guidance on warnings and evacuation plans.

Who do I contact regarding advertising in The Landings Journal or Landings Residential Directory? Click on Advertising in The Landings Journal, or call 912-598-2520, ext. 302 for information on classified and display submissions, including information on rates, deadlines, and specifications.

What are the deadlines for advertisement or article submissions in The Landings Journal? Your submission must be received by the 15th of each month for the following month's insertion. A Word document, PDF, Tif, or jpg file are the preferred formats for receipt.

How do I find out about Landings Club Membership? Memberships are available at several levels, encompassing golf, tennis, and social. Applications for membership are available at the Club Operations Office on Green Island Road. To learn more, click on The Landings Club or contact the Club membership office (912-598-8050).

Who handles issues relating to golf carts, tee times, and dining hours? The above subjects are handled directly by The Landings Club. You can reach them by clicking on The Landings Club or by calling 912-598-8050.

Do you have the selling prices on particular pieces of property? The Association does not maintain any records of selling prices of properties. Please contact The Landings Company at 912-598-0500 for that information. For additional reference, visit www.sagis.org.

When is Trick-or-Treating at The Landings
The official date and time for Trick-or-Treating at The Landings each year is Halloween (October 31), from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Is fishing in the lagoons permitted, and what are the restrictions? Fishing in lagoons is limited to property owners/residents and their accompanied guests. Unaccompanied guests, employees, and vendors are strictly prohibited, and they are considered trespassers.

Which lagoons are freshwater and which are saltwater? What species live in each? The Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Skidaway Island Chapter produces The Landings Lagoon Guide. This guide indicates the lagoons that are freshwater, saltwater, or brackish, as well as their specific species. Fishing tips also are provided. Your donation helps raise funds to maintain the fish stocking program. Refer to The Landings Fishing Guide located in this Directory.

Is there a Fish Stocking Program? Yes. CCA utilizes donations to maintain the stock fish program each year for the 70 freshwater lagoons. Well over 200,000 fish have been stocked over the years from their efforts. CCA and the Association's Public Works Department work together to implement the fishery management program throughout our lagoon system. Call 912-598-2524, ext. 400 for contact information.

Why are there duck decoys in some lagoons? Duck decoys are used to mark the location of underwater structures (reefs). These reefs provide cover for fish and are made from environmentally-friendly materials.

Is there a Kids Fishing Program? Yes. CCA allocates funds to maintain the lagoon (#56) behind the Oakridge Firehouse (intersection of Westcross and Log Landing Roads) as a year-round "fishing hole" for kids. Supervising adults, provided that they accompany a child, may utilize the kid's lagoon facility. This lagoon is stocked with bluegills each year, and it also contains largemouth bass and some large catfish.

Can someone teach me how to fish? Yes. CCA conducts fishing clinics and demonstrations throughout the year, with instructions on all the fishing opportunities we have in our area. Call 912-598-2524, ext. 400 for contact information.

Is a fishing license required to fish in a Landings lagoon? GA-DNR maintains that a valid Georgia fishing license is required for The Landings Association's lagoons for persons over the age of 16. Persons over the age of 65 are required to possess a fishing license; however, they are exempt from the fee.

Are there any fishing tournaments? Yes. CCA and The Landings Marinas sponsor an annual "All Species Fishing Tournament." There is both a Lagoon Division and a Tidal River/Offshore Division. This tournament has catch-and-release provisions and is free of charge. For more details, please contact the Landings Harbor Store (912-598-1901).
