Engage in Lifelong Learning - Right on Skidaway Island
Courtesy Senior Citizens, Inc.
Research has shown that staying intellectually stimulated reduces the effects of aging on the mind and body. You’re at a point in life where you can choose what you’d most like to learn about. History, Art, or Science, no matter the academic discipline, you probably will find it at The Learning Center’s fall lecture series at Skidaway.
Lectures are held at the Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church and begin at 5 p.m. with a wine- and-cheese reception, followed by the lecture from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The price per lecture is $15 for Learning Center members and $20 for visitors. A highlight of this season is Andrew O’Shaughnessy’s talk, The Men Who Lost America. His new book explores the non-military reasons the British Empire lost its American colonies. He is a professor at the University of Virginia and a historian at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.
